The environment at Willowford

We provide comfortable accommodation with high quality facilities with a minimal impact on the environment. This has been recognised with our Gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

All of our heating and hot water is provided by a log-burning boiler. Wherever possible, we burn waste wood from local sawmills and recycling plants, topped up with windfall from the farm and sustainably managed spruce from the Kielder Forest Complex a few miles north of Willowford. We have also moved to a 100% renewable electricity tariff from Good Energy.

We are also associate fundraisers for the Tourism and Conservation Partnership, and invite our guests to contribute to one of their many landscape and wildlife conservation projects.
