Things to do around Willowford

Willowford is a great base from which to explore this fascinating region. Visit our Google Map for ideas of things to do within walking distance of the farm. All the major Roman attractions, including Birdoswald, the Roman Army Museum, Housesteads and Vindolanda, can also be reached using the Hadrian's Wall Bus that stops about 1/2 mile from the farm.

For culture, shopping and amenities are the market towns of Brampton and Haltwhistle. Slightly further afield are Hexham and Corbridge, and then the vibrant cities of Carlisle and Newcastle.

We are also well located for exploring the Lake District and Northumberland National Parks, while the Scottish Borders and Northumberland Coast are only a scenic drive away.

Wildlife enthusiasts can visit WWT Caerlaverock or RSPB Geltsdale.
